Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to leaked audio, where he was reportedly quoted as bargaining with electorates for their votes in exchange for money. Tinubu described the video as a wilful defamation, adding that the perpetrators have crossed the line into the impermissible. The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), on Monday, warned some Professors, who are serving as Returning Officers in the rescheduled general elections in the state, against being used to rig the forthcoming polls in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP chairman in the state, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, who issued the warning during a media parley in Umuahia, the state capital, said the party had uncovered an alliance between professors in Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia state, to alter the election results against the state ruling party. Onuigbo said that the alleged plan between the Professors and the APC in the state to manipulate the outcome of the election result was uncovered shortly after the polls shift. 100,000 PDP, SDP members defect to APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Sokoto State has received no fewer than 100,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Malam Bashir Mani, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the APC leader in Sokoto state, Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, said that the new entrants into the APC were received by Wamakko on Wednesday, during the party’s campaign in Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Governments. NAN reports that Over 88,000 of the defectors were hitherto the executives and members of the SDP drawn from the 23 LGAs of the state. Others were the executives and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ), from eight out of the eleven wards in Goronyo local government. File photo The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will today make known its final decision on the participation of the All Progressives Congress in the general elections in Zamfara State. A source at the INEC headquarters told Channels Television that the leadership of INEC remains focused on its mission to deliver a free, fair and credible election in the country but would not go against the law in doing so. Conflicting judgments had emanated from the courts over the participation of Zamfara APC candidates in the elections. While the Zamfara State High Court declared the primaries as valid and asked INEC to recognise candidates submitted by the APC, a Federal High Court in Abuja declared the primaries invalid. 2019 election: Five shot dead in ongoing PDP, APC clash in Delta community

Five persons have been shot dead in Udumurogbo Quarters in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State in the ongoing clash between the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC. The incident, DAILY POST learnt, started in the early hours of Monday. It also left many seriously wounded. Sophisticated arms and ammunition were freely used by suspected thugs. They reportedly shot sporadically in the area and burgled into the homes of some residents, dispossessed them of their personal belongings and unspecified amount of money. The incident forced many commercial shops to remain closed with transporters and passerby abandoning the Effurun market area. The President was stoned with materials suspected to be shoes and stones. As a result of the violence, activities at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, was paused for some minutes. The Taraba Governorship Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), United Democratic Party (UDP) and the All Progressives Party (APC) failed to show up at the peace accord signing ceremony. The candidates are Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba (PDP), Sen. Aisha Alhassan, the immediate past Minister of Women Affairs (UDP), and Alhaji Sani Danladi (APC).
