Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Aviation workers in the country will down tools from midnight today in compliance with the call for an industrial action by the Nigeria Labour Congress. The strike is to press the government for the N30,000 minimum wage request. The Federal Government has proposed N24,000 minimum wage, but the governors say they can pay only N22,500 National President of the National Union of Air Transport Employers (NUATE) Ben Nnabue in a statement last night said all flights operating into and out of Nigerian airports would be affected by this industrial action.
