Davido has promised to stop smoking very soon hours after Don Jazzy marked one year of not smoking. The singer arrived at the city of Los Angeles, California in the United States of America when he made the announcement. The Lagos State Government has said that in spite of a letter of withdrawal by the complainant in a rape case, it was resolute to bring the two defendants to face justice. The defendants are Don-Chima George, 25, and Olusegun Rasak, 28, both dropouts from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo in Ogun. The duo are facing trial before an Ikeja High Court for allegedly drugging and raping a 24-year-old woman at a hotel in Lekki Phase One, Lekki, Lagos. During previous court proceedings on June 13, the complainant via a letter of withdrawal, dated June 3, informed the court that she wanted the criminal case against the defendants withdrawn. She said the reason for her intention to withdraw the case was due to “intervention of family members and for the sake of my integrity”. Lawyers representing the woman who accused Football Star, Neymar of rape, have dropped the case as they claimed there are many contradictions in her story. The Lawyers who dropped Neymar’s rape accuser case, said she initially told them she had consensual sex with Neymar in a Paris hotel in May and that he then became violent and assaulted her. The Sao Paulo-based firm, Fernandes e Abreu further disclosed that in her complaint to the police she”described what had happened as ‘rape’, which is a completely different allegation. Recall that in a video Neymar shared on Saturday, he vehemently denied raping the woman. He went on to share a string of WhatsApp messages, he said he had received from the Brazilian woman. He also named the woman and showed what he said were photographs of her topless and apparently in his hotel bed.

Osun State Polytechnic, Iree is on shut down after students of the institution destroyed some properties at the school’s medical centre. According to multiple reports, an HND 1 student of Applied Science, identified as Aminu Sheu fainted yesterday afternoon after he finished his exam.. and was reportedly rushed to the school’s medical centre at about 3:40 pm. Reports claim that the staff of duty allegedly told the students who brought him to the clinic that the clinic had closed for the day. Before they could locate a nearest hospital, the student died. The death of the student brought out the students on Saturday morning to protest the manner at which the school’s clinic handled the matter. Hours ago, we shared the report of a Nigerian man who took his guests and family members by surprise on his wedding day when at a moment during the event, he went agog like someone who was suddenly possessed by a demon. The man, all of a sudden began to clamour that he’s no longer interested in going on with the wedding with his wife, as he walked away from the occasion and took to the streets. A fuller video which has emerged online, shows the man saying “She’s been cheating on me” and thus, his reason for discontinuing with the wedding. As the bride struggles to catch up with him, begging, he yells to his best man  “She cheated on me, she’s been cheating on me” . According to Richard Blackstone a facebook user, the thief was given a different kind of treatment. He wrote; “This muscled guy was caught stealing in enugu , He was whipped small. Afterwards, we bought food for him, gave him two bottles of fanta drinks to quench his thirst and supplied him with one bag of sachet water. He was then given a shovel to desilt the big gutter leading to my poultry farm road in enugu, What a beautiful thing. He doesn’t need to go to jail. I think this is better than killing them or jail, let’s use them to keep our country clean.”

The Ogun state police command have arrested Babatunde Olagesin pictured above for allegedly killing his father, Taiwo Olagesin, with a cutlass following a disagreement at their residence in the Ijoko area of Ogun state on Monday May 6th. According to reports, trouble started when Babatunde told his father that he was on his way out to Oshodi at about 6am on the said day, The father prevented him from leaving the house, insisting they had to go somewhere together. Taiwo locked up the doors leading outside the premises to keep his son inside. An argument ensued and both father and son started fighting. This led to Taiwo pulling out a cutlass to scare his son who in a bid to collect the cutlass from his father, allegedly used it to cut open his father in the stomach.
