Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Nigeria election: Buhari declares Friday public holiday

Ahead of the 2019 presidential election, President Muhammadu Buhari has declared Friday, Public holiday. This was disclosed by Buhari’s Special Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmed on Twitter. According to him, Friday was declared work free day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly election. The terse statement reads, “GOOD IDEA: The Federal Government has declared Friday as Workfree Day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday.”

Nigeria election: Tinubu breaks silence on “leaked” audio, opens up on monetary promise to APC supporters

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to leaked audio, where he was reportedly quoted as bargaining with electorates for their votes in exchange for money. Tinubu described the video as a wilful defamation, adding that the perpetrators have crossed the line into the impermissible. The leaked audio on circulation depicted Tinubu as addressing a meeting of APC supporters in Lagos on 14th February, 2019. In a statement to DAILY POST on Wednesday, Tinubu said the video, where he was also quoted as saying that President Muhammadu Buhari does not have the kind of money he (Tinubu) has, was to paint him in a poor light. Nigeria Election: Keyamo tackles Dino Melaye, says ballot box snatching is treason

Festus Keyamo, Director, Strategic Communications of All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council has backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s death threats to ballot box snatchers ahead of the 2019 presidential election. Keyamo defended Buhari, saying the President was 100 percent correct constitutionally, by making the comments and that he would even encourage him to repeat it. Keyamo, appearing on Channels Tv, tackled Dino Melaye over Buhari’s statement, noting that ballot box snatching is treason and therefore punishable by death. He said: “I think I have listened to so many uninformed comments. “What the president said is 100 percent correct, defensible and I will urge him to repeat it over and over again. “The President said that whoever leads a band of thugs to go and snatch ballot boxes will pay dearly for it with his life.
