Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. File photo A report by The Nation has shown that some hooded men in police uniform on Friday stormed a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lokoja, Kogi State, but were prevented from disrupting the parley holding at former Governor Idris Wada’s residence. It was gathered that the hooded men were resisted by the party members who sent distress calls to the military which eventually dispersed the invaders. The Kogi State PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Bode Ogunmola, confirmed the incident to The Nation. He said,  “We were at our leader’s house, the former governor of the state. Some hooded men in police uniform came around trying to penetrate, they wanted to forcefully enter Ibro’s house. “Of course, we stood our ground, we called for military reinforcement. Gov. Bello’s wife, three aides involved in auto crash in Kogi

Amina Bello, wife of the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and three aides of the Kogi State Government on Saturday survived an auto crash along the Obajana-Kabba road on their way to Isanlu for the APC women rally. NAN reports that the incident was announced in a statement by Mr Onogwu Muhammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Yahaya Bello in Lokoja. According to the statement, the aides are: Mrs Kelechi Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Women and Children to the Governor; Mrs Ejura Edward, the SSA on Women Affairs, and Mrs Adesoro Olamide, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Governor’s wife.
