Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of a former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said youths of today are lazy and not ready to work. Speaking on a Lagos Television programme on this morning, Tinubu said her New Era Foundation Patience Home had concluded plans to empower youths in her senatorial district. She was quoted to have said most of the youths in Lagos would come to her husband’s house, claiming  “they want to enjoy Asiwaju’s money.” She, however, expressed displeasure that “most of these youths don’t want to work”, adding that  “the moment you give them work to do, they fall sick.” Remi Tinubu added that youths of nowadays are interested in making quick money,  “but they don’t want to work before making the money. Our youths are very rude because they want to be like all those people abroad.”

Nigeria election: Tinubu breaks silence on “leaked” audio, opens up on monetary promise to APC supporters

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to leaked audio, where he was reportedly quoted as bargaining with electorates for their votes in exchange for money. Tinubu described the video as a wilful defamation, adding that the perpetrators have crossed the line into the impermissible. The leaked audio on circulation depicted Tinubu as addressing a meeting of APC supporters in Lagos on 14th February, 2019. In a statement to DAILY POST on Wednesday, Tinubu said the video, where he was also quoted as saying that President Muhammadu Buhari does not have the kind of money he (Tinubu) has, was to paint him in a poor light. Bola Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to remain committed and not allow the election postponement deter them from exercising their rights on Feb. 23. Tinubu made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Lagos by his Media Officer, Mr Tunde Rahman. Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for Feb. 16 were shifted till Feb. 23 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, hours to the commencement of the polls. Governorship, state houses of assembly and Federal Capital Territory Area Council polls, earlier fixed for March 2 were also moved to March 9 by INEC due to some challenges. Tinubu, Oshiomhole missing as Buhari takes presidential campaign to Abuja

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, were notably missing, as President Muhammadu Buhari took his presidential campaign to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. There is no official reason for their absence, Channels Television reports. The rally which took place at the Eagles Square, saw the FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, in attendance. Others in attendance included the APC Women Leader, (Hajia) Salamatu Umar-Eluma and the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, among others. All campaign rallies are expected to end is 24 hours to the presidential elections.

Tinubu with PDP suppoters Bola Tinubu, the National leader of the All Progressives Congress has been spotted posing with some Peoples Democratic Party members in Lagos. According to social media reports, the former governor of Lagos called them Atikukated Nigerians before proceeding to take pictures with them. Earlier on, a video surfaced showing Tinubu allegedly throwing away an APC flag at the party’s presidential rally in Ogun State. Responding  to the video, Tinubu through his media aide said: ”If the issue of the flag has become the hotspot of the PDP campaign, then they are in serious trouble. “During that portion of the Ogun rally, the National Chairman and others were looking for a party flag. ”I spotted one within my reach. Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday could not stomach his frustration as he threw away the All Progressives Congress flag at a rally in Ogun State. The presidential campaign rally of the ruling party was greeted with violence after the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, attempted to campaign for another candidate. Angered by his action, Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, stormed the stage to interrupt him. Apparently not happy with Aregbesola’s move, some thugs believed to be loyal to Amosun started jeering and pelting stones at President Muhammadu Buhari, APC Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and some APC chieftain. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, National Leader Bola Tinubu, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi have graced the President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign in Lagos. He arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Saturday morning.
