Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. A former General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Prophet Samuel Abiara, has advised Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded presidential election to accept defeat. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner. Buhari polled 15,191,847 votes to win the election, while Atiku got 11,262,978 votes. Atiku had rejected the result, saying he would go to court to seek redress. But in a message on Friday, Abiara said: “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is mature, peaceloving, civilised and a devout Muslim, and so I want to tell him to embrace peace. He must accept defeat and let peace reign in Nigeria. Nigeria Elections: Confusion as Google puts dollar at N184 despite parallel market’s N358

There is an apparent confusion on the social media following Google search result of the American dollar exchange to Naira. Check by DAILY POST at 8:15pm Nigerian time showed that the dollar was N184 on the search engine. The development is trending on Twitter and has generated thousands of tweets. Meanwhile, the Naira on Friday gained N1 to close at N358 to the dollar at the parallel market in Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the naira traded stronger on the eve of elections than Thursday when it closed at N359 to a dollar. The Pound Sterling was sold at N470 and the Euro at N408. At the Bureau De Change (BDC) segment, the naira traded at N360 to the dollar, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at N470 and N408. Trading at the investors window saw the naira closing at N361.49 to the dollar as market turnover stood at 292.34 million dollars . Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari must visit his hospital in London, UK, because of his remarks on ballot box snatching. Melaye stated this while appearing on Channels Television on Tuesday evening. “That statement from Mr. President is a serious confirmation that Mr. President has to visit London again, because it is not expected from any rationally thinking, intellectually mobile leader,” the lawmaker said. Nigeria elections: Atiku warns Buhari ahead of Saturday presidential poll

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of Saturday’s elections. Abubakar warned that history would condemn Buhari if Saturday’s presidential election was not free and fair. The former Vice President, who spoke on Tuesday in Abuja, also alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had equipped many of their members with unnamed devices that could slow down or quicken the Smart Card Readers during the presidential poll.
