Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Oyo Assembly passes 2019 budget

The Oyo State House of Assembly on Thursday passed the 2019 appropriation bill of the state to the tune of N285,151,248,190.48. The bill was passed into law with the state Assembly decrying the poor performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in generating revenue internally last year. The approved budget covers a recurrent of N121,619,813,614.24 and capital expenditure of N163,531,434,576.24. DAILY POST gathered that the budget passed by the Assembly on Thursday is an  upward review of N151.2 million from the N285 billion presented by Governor Abiola Ajimobi  on December 31, 2018. Contained in a report of the appropriation committee on the 2019 budget as presented by its Chairperson, Mrs. Bolanle Agbaje, the Assembly said the MDAs attributed the handicap to difficulties in getting required logistics and running grants for monthly operations.
