Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. There is an apparent confusion on the social media following Google search result of the American dollar exchange to Naira. Check by DAILY POST at 8:15pm Nigerian time showed that the dollar was N184 on the search engine. The development is trending on Twitter and has generated thousands of tweets. Meanwhile, the Naira on Friday gained N1 to close at N358 to the dollar at the parallel market in Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the naira traded stronger on the eve of elections than Thursday when it closed at N359 to a dollar. The Pound Sterling was sold at N470 and the Euro at N408. At the Bureau De Change (BDC) segment, the naira traded at N360 to the dollar, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro closed at N470 and N408. Trading at the investors window saw the naira closing at N361.49 to the dollar as market turnover stood at 292.34 million dollars . Traders said that the demand for the dollar was low as the market was already in an election mood. ...

Google, UBA to provide free Wi-Fi to customers

United  Bank for Africa Plc, UBA, is working with Google and ISP partner to launch Google Station in 11 key UBA branches in Lagos State as part of plans to roll out 200 stations in the country. Google Station, a platform for providing free, high-speed Wi-Fi hotspots in public places, began in Lagos last year, and extended to Abuja in December in partnership with Backbone Connectivity Network. The UBA google-powered initiative would allow the bank’s customers access to internet connectivity within the 11 branches and its environs, thereby facilitating their day-to-day businesses and activities, while ensuring unhindered connectivity. The 11 branches where the hotspot will be located are: UBA Bank Road, 810-811 Bank Road, Daleko; UBA Matori, 21 Fatai Atere street; UBA Surulere, 152 Ogunlana Drive; UBA Allen, 13 Allen Avenue, Ikeja; UBA Tisco Plaza, Alausa; UBA Apapa, 11-13 Warehouse Road, Apapa; UBA Marina, 55 Marina, Lagos Island; UBA HQ, Broad Street, Marina; UBA Lekk...
