Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Teenager in court for allegedly defiling, impregnating 12-year-old girl

A 19-year-old teenager, Olalekan Fatokun, who allegedly defiled and impregnated a 12-year-old daughter of his neighbour on Wednesday appeared at a Yaba Chief magistrates’ court in Lagos. Fatokun, who resides at No. 8, Oguntuga Str., Abule-ijesha area of Lagos, is facing a charge of defilement of a child. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Police Prosecutor, ASP. Thomas Nurudeen, earlier told the court that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 10, 11 and 13, 2018 at No. 8, Oguntuga str., in Abule-ijesha, Lagos. Nurudeen said the unlawful defilement, resulted in the pregnancy of the girl. The prosecutor also told the court that the girl had been living next door to the accused for over four years. “My Lord, it was the minor’s mother that discovered the pregnancy, said to be two months when she began to notice changes in her daughter’s body. “Even at the police station, the accused did not deny being intimate with the minor,” Nurudeen said.
