Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Students (File photo) The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the sale of registration forms for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In series of tweets via its official handle, @JAMBHQ, the board outlined steps on how prospective candidates can begin the process of registration via Short Message Service (SMS). It reads: 1. No candidate should proceed to any CBT centre without first creating a profile. 2. Candidates are advised to create a profile by sending their name (Surname, First-name, and Middle-name) via SMS to 55019. 3. After which a 10 digit profile code would be sent to their telephone number. 4. This code will then be used to purchase the application document at the point of purchase (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, USSD Partners etc). 5. A form e-pin would then be sent to the candidate via SMS. 6.
