Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office has arrested one Kola Al-Amin, a former staff of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB over alleged forgery and obtaining money by false pretences. His arrest followed a petition alleging that sometime in November, 2010, Kola who operates under the name of “Cool Technologies Consult Limited” with office located at No.4/900, Taiwo House, Second Floor, Yemetu Total Garden, Ibadan, Oyo State approached the complainant, a microfinance bank (name withheld) with a Local Purchasing Order (LPO) for the supply of internet hardware which he claimed was from JAMB headquarters, Abuja. He requested the microfinance bank to advance him a loan of 10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) only to finance the LPO. 2019 UTME: JAMB Releases List Of Prohibited Items In Exam Hall

Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB has released the list of strictly restricted/prohibited items in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination hall. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) still maintained its directive that no candidate would be allowed to come into the exam hall with electronic devices in the forthcoming mock examinations and 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin released in Abuja on Sunday, February 17, 2019, contains the list of prohibited Items that won’t be allowed into any of its centres during this year’s examination. JAMB registers over 1.6 million, confirms closing date for 2019 UTME registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says not less than 1.8 million candidates would be registered for its 2019 UTME by the end of the registration exercise scheduled for Feb. 21. The Board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos. Benjamin expressed satisfaction with the ongoing registration exercise nationwide, adding that so far, it had been smooth with little or no hitches. The registration of candidates for this year’s all Computer Based Test (CBT) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), commenced on Feb. 10. Meanwhile, an official bulletin of the board tagged ‘jambulletin’ issued on Sunday, said over 1.6 million candidates had registered for the examination between Feb. 10 and Feb. 15 nationwide, with Lagos recording the highest, with 234,259 candidates. No extension for candidates’ registration -JAMB

Following the tour by Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe, Chairman Governing Board, Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB to some Computer Based Test, CBT centers in Lagos, the body board chairman has said there will be no extension of date in registration. Speaking to journalists at the Electronic Test Company, ETC, CBT centres also called JKK centre in Anthony, Dr Ndukwe in company of Babatunde Bamishaye, Coordinator, JAMB National Headquarters, Annex, Lagos and other principal officers of the body,  expressed joy over the success of the ongoing JAMB registration exercise  that has recorded little hitches compared to previous years. JAMB speaks on extending 2019 registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB )has announced that there would not be an extension of the registration for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Chairman of Governing Board, , Dr Emmanuel Ndukwe, said he does not foresee an extension of registration beyond February 21 deadline. Ndukwe said this while monitoring the ongoing registration of candidates in some Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres in Lagos on Friday, Ndukwe further urged candidates planning to take the 2019 UTME to register now while there is no pressure at the Centres. “I don’t foresee an extension. We have to stick to the date we have given to the public. If we start now thinking about extension, it doesn’t portray our seriousness. “Some of the places we visited had many systems but few candidates. Let the candidates out there be mindful of the examination dates. I don’t foresee any extension of dates,” he said.
