Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. New Ebola case confirmed in Liberia- WHO

The World Health Organization has confirmed that a new case of the deadly Ebola virus has surfaced in Liberia. "There is one confirmed case," WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic told AFP, without providing further details. Liberia was declared free in September.

There were rumours that Al Jazeera reported that Aliko Dangote was at the Radisson Blu hotel in Mali when it was attacked by gunmen. Dangote just took to his twitter handle to refute the claims that he is among the 170 hostages. He was in Mali yesterday but has since returned to Nigeria.. Also, AFP Bureau Chief Nigeria, Phil Hazlewood, confirmed he's not there. He confirmed this from Aliko Dangote's spokesman, Anthony Chiejina.

Army arrests 3 wanted Boko Haram members in Yobe

The Nigerian Army has arrested three Boko Haram members declared among the most 100 wanted suspects. Making their arrest known to newsmen in Damaturu yesterday Nov. 19th, the Commander, 27 Task Force Brigade, Col. Dahiru Bako, said one of the suspects was arrested in Jakusko while two others were arrested in Damaturu. “The suspect arrested in Damaturu is tailor operating at the Don Etiebet Housing Estate, but we cannot disclosed the identity”, he said. Col. Bako also disclosed that a woman carrying suspicious items was also arrested in Damaturu. He added that the army had destroyed the sect’s major camps including Markas, Timbuktu and Fallujah and other smaller cells in Shangamari, Ngirmai, Shamko and Jamtari all in Alagarno forest bordering Borno and Yobe.  “The insurgents are highly on the run and now filtering into the communities. Gunmen storm Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, Mali this morning, taking 170 hostages

Gunmen suspected to be Jihadists have taken about 170 people hostage after they attacked Radisson Blu Hotel, a five-star hotel in Mali's capital Bamako this morning. The armed men stormed the hotel and started a shooting rampage. "It is all happening on the seventh floor, jihadists are firing in the corridor," an unnamed security official told AFP. "According to our information, 2 people are holding 140 clients and 30 employees." they added Automatic weapon fire could be heard from outside the 190-room hotel, where security forces set up a security cordon. "The Rezidor Hotel Group ... is aware of the hostage-taking that is ongoing at the property today... As per our information two persons have locked in 140 guests and 30 employees," the company said in a statement. Two suspected members of Boko Haram sect who disguised as members of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamitis Sunna (JIBWIS) First Aid Group based in Zaria, Kaduna state, ‎have been arrested and handed over to the police. Daily Trust reports that the Police Area Commander in charge of Zaria headquarters, Muhammad D.‎ Shehu, confirmed the arrest and said the suspects will be‎ transferred to the police state command. "The first suspect was caught fully dressed in our uniform. Members of our First Aid Group (‘Yan Agaji) have their uniform. Following the military’s advice, we have introduced certain security measures. Through those measures, our members can identify themselves anywhere they meet. EFCC Directors and Senior operatives arrested for leaking informations to Bloggers

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested an unspecified number of operatives for allegedly leaking information to bloggers. Among those arrested are a director and other senior operatives. It was gathered that among those in custody was a former senior operative who was dismissed from the anti-graft agency for corruption and cultism. “There seems to be a purge here at the commission. Some of our operatives leaking information to bloggers are in custody already. “Those arrested are a director, some senior and lower cadre officers, including a former senior operative who was dismissed for corruption and involvement in cult activities.” the source told The  PUNCH. A judge in Osun State, Justice A. O. Oguntade, at the state High Court, Ede, on Thursday barred journalists from covering the divorce proceedings involving millionaire businessman, Deji Adeleke, and his estranged wife, Teju. Adeleke, who is the Chancellor of the Adeleke University, is the father of popular musician, Davido. PUNCH  reports he was present in court on Thursday but the estranged wife was not when journalists were chased out. Oguntade had on Monday, November 16, prevented journalists who were present at the court by chasing them out of the court room.
