Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. 1. Sylva only became a party member in November 2014, and made his first trip to Bayelsa on the day Buhari led the APC campaign team to Yenagoa seeking for votes. He left immediately and never came back.
2. Other founding members of and party faithful bore the brunt and financial cost of provision of a state secretariat for registration, membership drive and other party activities and events.
3. Sylva hijacked the party and has refused to consult any of the other party leaders in taking important decisions that concern and affect the party in the state.
4. Sylva is using his relationship with certain persons in the Buhari government to hawk appointment slots for Bayelsa state to the highest bidder.
5. Sylva’s conduct is causing a lot of bad blood and disaffection within the party in the state.
