Who will qualify from the Champions League round of 16

The Champions League round of 16 draws
have been held and lots of teams will fancy
their chances of making the quarter-finals.
The clashes are poised to be titanic with
many of the ties very difficult to pick a
winner from.
In full: Champions League round of 16 draws
However based on quality of players, history
and form we can begin to predict the
winners from each tie;
Manchester City v Monaco
On paper City have enough in them to beat
Monaco but the French side are no push
overs. Recall their defeat of Arsenal at the
same stage two seasons ago?
Pep's side are disorganised in defense while
Monaco are strong in attack with a rather
reliable defense.
Manchester have just four wins from their last
15 games in all competitions
Verdict: Monaco to go through
Real Madrid v Napoli
The Champions League draws are always
easy shots for Real Madrid and it seems so
once again. Napoli have been inconsistent in
the Champions League this season and have
neither the quality or experience to beat Real
Madrid over two legs.
Real Madrid attackers Gareth Bale and Karim
Benzema
Verdict: Real Madrid to progress
Benfica v Borussia Dortmund
Inconsistent in the league but superb in the
Champions League is what Dortmund are.
They are a fine side from front to back and
are a match for any team in Europe. Benfica
however are looking like an Europa League
side with inconsistency.
Dortmund will fancy their Chances against
Leverkusen
Verdict: Dotmund to sail through
Bayern Munich v Arsenal
Bayern have dropped a level this season
desppite topping the Bundesliga table and
Arsenal have moved a quality upward.
If the two teams are to meet this December,
expect Arsenal to be victors but with German
teams afforded the winter off and English
team set to play all through aand even to the
new year, fatigue could come into play.
Arsenal line up before a Champions league
match
Arsenal do not ave the experience to go
ahead, however Bayern have and in Carlo
Ancelotti have one of the best managers ever.
Verdict: Bayern smiling at the quarterfinals
Porto v Juventus
Iker Casillas and Gianluigi Buffon face off
again but unlike previous encounters, the
Italian has the better team to back him up.
Porto are a good team in their own right but
they have neither the quality or form to
trump Juve who are looking to make the
final.
Who will qualify from the Champions League
round of 16
Verdict: Juventus advance forward
Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid
One of the teams everyone wants to avoid in
the Champions League is Atletico who topped
ther group ahead of Bayern Munich. They
have made the final twice in the past three
years and are not to be trifled with.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone
Levverkusen however have neither the
quality or experience to make it far.
Verdict: Atletico Madrid sail through
Paris Saint-Germain v Barcelona
Unai Emery is under pressure to deliver at
PSG and could have seen his side top their
group but for a lucklustre display against
Ludogarets on the final group game.
Barcelona meanwhile are a top team and are
considered favorites for the title this time
around.
Expect Lionel Messi to run riot against PSG
Verdict: Barcelona eliminate PSG
Sevilla v Leicester City
Forget the 4 - 2 win over Manchester City last
time out, Leicester City have actually been
awful this season. Sevilla meanwhile have
been one of the best teams in Europe this
season.
Credit to Leicester for winning four of their
group games but they were actually not
paired with a top team. Club Brugge, Porto
and FC Copahengen are not exactly top class
in the mould of PSG, Atletio or Bayern.
Leicester City wouldn't be a match for Sevilla
Verdict: Sevilla qualify for quarter-finals
