New Orleans rapper, Young Greatness, was fatally shot dead early on Monday morning October 29th outside of a Waffle House.   The late Young Greatness US rapper, Young Greatness has been shot and killed in his native New Orleans at the age of 34, according to BBC. The rapper whose real name is Theodore Jones, is best known for his 2015 track 'Moolah', which has had more than 30 million views on YouTube. According to local reports, the hip-hop artist was shot in the early hours of Monday outside a branch of the Waffle House food chain. The coroner confirmed his identity and that a gunshot wound was the cause of death. Police are seeking two suspects. New minimum wage: NLC protests in Lagos, insists on November 6 ultimatum

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has given the Federal Government up to November 6, 2018 to meet its demands for workers’ pay raise or faces an indefinite strike by the workers. The leaders of the labour unions leading protest marches in different parts of the country have insisted that the government must approve the 30,000 Naira minimum wage and nothing less. In Lagos, the protest caused a heavy gridlock stretching from the Ojuelegba axis of Ikorodu road to Freedom Park in Ojota, Lagos state, forcing motorists to move slowly behind them. Such protest has been reported in other states across the country. The workers said the sensitisation became necessary as the labour union has remained calm and adopted dialogue with the government since the expiration of the minimum wage review in 2016.

The artist is said to have performed during a royal wedding at one of the world’s top private residences, Umaid Bhawan Palace in India. Gov. Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos on Tuesday said he would award N10 million to the winners of the Ready Set Work (RSW) business pitch. This was announced during the prize presentation at the graduation ceremony of the RSW initiative. Akinwunmi Ambode Newsmen report that ‘Ready Set Work’ is an initiative of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, facilitated by the Office of the Special Adviser on Education. It is aimed at equipping students with employability and entrepreneurship skills needed after graduation. The organised labour on Tuesday revealed candidate who it’s members will vote during the 2019 general elections. President of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Bobboi Kaigama said the Organised Labour would vote for any candidate who was interested in the welfare of workers. He spoke during a protest at the President Villa in Abuja, over government’s refusal to increase the minimum wage of workers to N30,000. Kaigama vowed that members would ensure that their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, used “seriously” in 2019. He said, “In 2019, we will take our PVCs very seriously. “Any governor or presidential candidate who is not interested in the welfare of workers and labour will not be voted for.”

The accused — Johnson Oke, 31, and Opeyemi Samuel, 26 — are facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing.
