Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. A 67-year-elderly person has been summoned before the Lagos State Magistrate Court at Igbosere, Lagos, for purportedly hacking into a First Bank Plc record and taking N16.2million. The lady,  Wuraola Folashade Oluloye , was summoned on a five-count charge of fraudulent diversion, was captured following a complaint from Solomon Akhanolu, Head of the Department of Forensic Auditors of First Bank. Oluloye  pleaded not guilty to the five counts and was allowed safeguard by  Folashade Olukoya , the presiding magistrate and the chief magistrate of Igbosere court. How prophet defrauded man of N6.35m

The  police on Friday arraigned a prophet, Vincent Adewunmi, in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly defrauding one Apostle Austin Okeke of N6.35 million.

Adewunmi, 36, of no fixed address, is charged with two counts of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence.
The prosecutor, Sgt. John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offence between the month of May and  August 2018 at Ori-Okuta, Owutu in Ikorodu.
He said that the accused, a prophet of a particular church, fraudulently obtained the money from the complainant, with a promise to secure an Australian visa for about 12 members of his Church.
Iberedem said that the offence,  contravened the provisions of  section 411 and 314 of criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015. (Revised)
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
Chief Magistrate F.A Azeez, admitted the accused to bail, in the sum of  two million Naira with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Dec. 20, for mention.

Karthyayani Amma,  a 96-year-old woman set a record by scoring 98 marks out of 100 in the literacy exam in southern Indian state of Kerala. The Kerala State literacy mission conducts equivalency examination in different grades for people who could not get proper schooling.   After the results were declared on Wednesday, Karthyayani Amma was felicitated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. A video has emerged showing the moment the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, was humiliated by villagers at Usen in Ovia South West local government area, on Thursday 24th January 2018. It was reported that Igbinedion allegedly attempted to stampede the campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Candidate, Hon. UK disagrees with US decision to ban Huawei 5G Network

THE United Kingdom’s National Cyber Security Centre, NCSC, has said Huawei’s network equipment are not a threat to its security. This is despite restrictions in the United States on Huawei’s 5G network equipment and allegations that Chinese manufacturers are spying on the West. The centre also added that any potential risk posed from using the company’s equipment can be easily mitigated. UK Financial Times reported the NCSC has ruled out a blanket ban, but hasn’t formally settled on what to do in response to the US’s persuasion to ban the use of Huawei equipment. Huawei’s founder, Ren Zhengfei, in an interview with the BBC, stated categorically that “the US cannot crush Huawei.” In a previous report by the Bloomberg, Ren had stated that despite the potential impact of the US plot on the business, he was confident Huawei’s revenue would grow to $125 billion in 2019 from more than $100 billion last year.
