Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Chelsea winger, Willian has disclosed that he offered fellow teammate, Gonzalo Higuain the chance to take Chelsea’s penalty against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup but the Argentine international declined.
Willian stated this following Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round encounter at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Goals from Willian (2) and Callum Hudson-Odoi Jesse (1) ensured Maurizio Sarri’s men dumped Sheffield Wednesday out from the competition.
Asked if Higuain had asked for the ball during the exchange, Willian told Chelsea TV: “No I want to give him the ball.” And he said you take it?
“Yes, I wanted him to score the first goal today. But it will come soon.”
Willian added: “We have a great relationship, we know each other inside the pitch.
“We know the quality of the players we have in front, a lot of quality players, technical players so it’s great when you have players like Higuain, Hudson-Odoi, Pedro, Hazard, Giroud. It’s good for Chelsea.”
Chelsea will tackle Bournemouth on Wednesday in the Premier League fixture.
