Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Popular evangelist accused of fraud after he was caught deceptively soliciting for funds, claiming he wants to help widows

Evangelist Chidi Ibinado, a popular Nigerian cleric has been accused of being a fraud. He was accused of deceptively soliciting for funds, claiming he wants to help widows.
The evangelist is being accused of the fraudulent act by a popular philanthropist, Dr Yolanda N. George-David.
Some time ago, Evangelist Chidi Ibinado shared photos of bags of rice, wrappers, and other items which he claims he bought to distribute to widows. He then asked social media users to donate for more items.
His post got impressive responses with people promising to donate to support his good work. Actress Uche Elendu even declared support for him.
However, it turns out he didn’t buy those items as he claims. The photo of bags of rice and wrappers which he said he bought for widows are actually photos from an event tagged CPM Festac’s Papa Move. He is alleged to have taken their photos, shared it online, and passed it off as something he is doing for widows.
He was busted by philanthropist Dr Yolanda N. George-David who was one of those that organised CPM’s Festac Papa’s Move.
Dr Yolanda took to Instagram to expose the cleric. She wrote:
“I am Irate.. Disgusted..and Ashamed as a Minister of the Gospel… Evan. Chidi Ibinado in Owerri… How dare you?
“Why would a so called Evangelist take Pictures from CPM Festac’s Papa Move and claim that he is taking care of widows.
“Dear Mr.. Evangelist.. God is the husband of the widows… real widows were blessed… God has blessed Rev.Paul.. myself and everyone who donated to the Success last year.. You can’t claim to be called by God and you steal from already hungry people… Return every donation that you have received in 7 days or hear from my lawyers… I am pretty Irate ..right now.. Thank you God that I am not in Africa, I would have paid you a visit and given you some good beating… Since you have reduced yourself to lying… How is this not fraudulent…

“I am pissed.. Evangelist. Evangelist Chidi has since locked up his Instagram page and deleted the post he made about buying items for the widows.
However, Dr Yolanda N. George-David made anther post, telling him it is not enough to delete the post but must make an acknowledgment of doing wrong.
She wrote:
“Uncle it isn’t enough to delete the post… You must acknowledge that you used our pictures from Papa’s move without permission and consent and you claimed that you were set to care for 900 widows… and you demanded for donations under false pretences… Your members deserve better…. You must make refunds to everyone you extorted from your imaginary outreach…. Ask your lawyers the implications of your post… You can’t sit in Owerri …Evan. Chidi Ibinado steal pictures… from Papa’s Move and then share… You messed with the wrong set of people.. Why would a so called Evangelist take Pictures from CPM Festac’s Papa Move and claim that he is taking care of widows.

Court of Appeal reverses Nyako’s impeachment as Adamawa state governor

A Court of Appeal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has reversed the July 15th 2014 impeachment of Murtala Nyako as governor of Adamawa State. The former Governor who was accused of misappropriation of public funds while in office, was impeached after 17 of 25 members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly voted against him at the state house of Assembly. Delivering judgement in an appeal filed by Nyako today February 11th, the Court of Appeal ruled that the process leading to his impeachment contravened the provisions of the Law. Justice Tunde Ayotoye who read the unanimous judgement, said Nyako was not given fair hearing during his impeachment and that his rights were violated by the Assembly members. The court in its ruling, ordered that all his entitlement before and after leaving office should be paid. The judges however dismissed Nyako's appeal to be reinstated as Governor of the state. The judges ruled that his tenure as governor had elapsed.
