A Court of Appeal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has reversed the July 15th 2014 impeachment of Murtala Nyako as governor of Adamawa State. Delivering judgement in an appeal filed by Nyako today February 11th, the Court of Appeal ruled that the process leading to his impeachment contravened the provisions of the Law. Justice Tunde Ayotoye who read the unanimous judgement, said Nyako was not given fair hearing during his impeachment and that his rights were violated by the Assembly members. The court in its ruling, ordered that all his entitlement before and after leaving office should be paid. The judges however dismissed Nyako's appeal to be reinstated as Governor of the state.
