Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, were notably missing, as President Muhammadu Buhari took his presidential campaign to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
There is no official reason for their absence, Channels Television reports.
The rally which took place at the Eagles Square, saw the FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, in attendance.
Others in attendance included the APC Women Leader, (Hajia) Salamatu Umar-Eluma and the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, among others.
All campaign rallies are expected to end is 24 hours to the presidential elections.
