Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Mikel Obi Returns To Lead Super Eagles at 2019 AFCON


Report has it that Mikel Obi will finally return to lead the Super Eagles at this year’s AFCON in Egypt. Mikel last played for Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Speculations over his international future have raged on ever since he last appeared in the final group game against Argentina in Saint Petersburg in June 2018.
However, top officials have now told SCORENIGERIA that Mikel has agreed to return to lead Nigeria at the AFCON.
“Mikel will return to the Eagles for the AFCON,” a top official informed SCORENIGERIA
“His experience and personality are crucial for the team who will hand out AFCON debuts to the bulk of the squad.
“He’s playing well and regularly at his club in England and he will be the Super Eagles captain in Egypt.”
Interestingly, the former Chelsea star made his AFCON debut at the 2006 edition in Egypt, where Nigeria finished third.
