Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Police officer brutalizing citizens
Some men of the Nigerian police force have been caught on camera physically assaulting and brutalizing two young men while trying to force them into a car.
The unidentified officers stormed the scene and tried to force the two men inside a waiting car, which they resisted asking why they should be forced into the car when they are not criminals.
The question made the officers, kick, slap and bash the young men, even shooting in the air. The video also caught a nursing mother running away from the place to avoid being hit by stray bullet.
It is not yet known exactly which part of Nigeria, the sad incident took place.
