Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. There was pandemonium on Wednesday, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Glory Tabernacle Parish, Ijapo-Estate Akure, Ondo State, when a court Judge attacked the pastor and a member over noise pollution.

Justice Omoleye Folayemi reportedly stormed the church during the mid-week ‘Divine Encounter Service’ that normally holds between 10:00am to 12:00pm, and started making a video while complaining about the effects of the pollution.
However, a 68-year-old assistant pastor approached the judge and kicked the phone away from her hand, prompting Justice Folayemi to pounce on her. According to reports, the judge also slapped a pastor who tried to intervene.

It was gathered that Justice Folayemi’s house is located close to the church and she had complained several times over the noise that emanates from the church during programs, but got no positive feedback from RCCG.
