Job: Nigeria, Britain partner to combat unemployment

The Nigerian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the British Government in tackling unemployment and creating job opportunities for young persons in the country. PHOTO: NAN The Minister of State for  Labour  and Employment, Dr Festus Keyamo, stated this when the Political Counsellor, British High Commission, Mr Dominic Williams, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. “We are ready to collaborate with our partners all over the world to open up avenues for job creation. We are open to all kinds of suggestions and levels of co-operation,” he said. He disclosed that the Government has opened up other sectors as part of efforts to diversify the economy from oil, which would, in turn, create room for employment. Femi Fani-Kayode, former aviation minister and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) on Friday said he wished former presidents like Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathantreated opposition members the way Muhammadu Buhari does.
In a few tweets on his Twitter account, Fani-Kayode said that he wished Obasanjo supported members of the Oodua Peoples Congress(OPC) the way Buhari supports members of Miyetti Allah and “Fulani terrorists.”
He said, How I wish OBJ had supported the OPC in the same way that Buhari is supporting Miyetti Allah and the Fulani terrorists.
He noted also that be wished Obasanjo also “treated the leaders and proponents of political sharia in the same way that Buhari is treating the leaders and members of IPOB.”
On Jonathan, he says he wished he “had treated Buhari and members of the then opposition with the same level of brutality that Buhari is treating members of the opposition today.”
He further expressed his wish for Jonathan not being ruthless and vicious the way Buhari is now.
“How I wish GEJ had been as ruthless and vicious with his critics as Buhari is ruthless and vicious with his today”, he said.
