A man who was stabbed to death as he tried to stop a confrontation in east London has been named by police. Zakaria Bukar Sharif Ali, 26, was attacked as he tried to defuse a fight outside the Rolling Stock bar in Hackney at about 06:30 GMT on Saturday. He died from his injuries two hours later and no arrests have been made. Police are seeking two suspects; one is described as an olive skinned male, aged in his 20s. The other is a white male with ginger hair and a beard. The first man was described by police as being about 5ft 10ins (1.7m) tall and of stocky build with short dark hair, and the second suspect was described as being about 6ft (1.8m) tall and of heavy build with fair hair and a fluffy beard. Twenty-two people have died and more than 60 are feared drowned after a pleasure boat sank on Lake Victoria, Ugandan police said Sunday. The vessel carrying close to a hundred revellers sank during bad weather on Saturday in the latest deadly incident to affect passenger boats on Africa’s largest lake. “Twenty-two bodies have been recovered and 26 people rescued,” said Asuman Mugenyi, director of operations for the Uganda police. “According to one of the survivors there were more than 90 people on board.” The boat, on which party-goers were drinking, dancing and listening to music, sank a short distance from the shore off Mutima in Mukono District, close to the capital Kampala. Mugenyi said overloading and bad weather were likely to blame. “We expect (the number of passengers) is beyond the capacity of the boat. Three siblings allegedly selling ‘poisonous beans’ (beans treated with Sniper) were recently arrested in Lagos. The traders, apparently out of ignorance, claimed that they saw Sniper as something that kills insects and decided to use it to preserve beans and kill the insects. Rear Adm. David Adeniran, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Calabar, on Friday said that oil theft and sea piracy have reduced drastically in the Niger Delta region. Adeniran said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on board Nigerian Navy Ship Okpabana in Calabar. He was speaking on the sideline of the fourth quarter exercise of the Nigerian Navy tagged ‘Exercise Ani-Oforifori’, meaning ‘chase thief’ in Kalabari language. The  police on Friday arraigned a prophet, Vincent Adewunmi, in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos for allegedly defrauding one Apostle Austin Okeke of N6.35 million.
